Host/Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking an optimistic and organized Host/Hostess to join our team here at Iron Chef Sushi. Our ideal candidate will be the first point of contact to our guests, prioritising friendly greetings and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role requires outstanding communication skills, effective guest management and relations while maintaining an efficient flow of service in our establishment.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests a warm, friendly greeting upon arrival.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Provide guests with menus and inform them of daily specials or promotions upon seating.
• Maintain an organized waiting list during busy periods, ensuring timely seating for all guests.
• Flexibility in management to guest flow in optimizing seating capacity while maintaining comfort and attentiveness to guests.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring exceptional guest services at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members to uphold optimal service requests.
• Must maintain excellent personal hygiene, cleanliness and organization at all times of the hosting area, menus, phones, packing stations, and waiting areas.
• Answering phone orders and packing them in an orderly and efficient manner.
• Improve guest comfort and stay with sensibility and attentiveness.
• Provide staff members with reliable assistance when applicable to ensure optimal flow, productiveness and efficacy of tasks.

Skills

• Strong guest relations and communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Proficient in using POS systems for orders and order management.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is optional but preferred.
• Excellent phone and in-person etiquette for handling reservations, inquiries or orders over the phone.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members.
• A positivity for hospitality and helping others receive a pleasant dining experience.
• Mindful and collected organization skills in handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to address guests’ needs and concerns in a practical and sensible manner.
