SALARY RANGE: $16.56/hour
PART TIME/AT WILL/NON-BENEFITTED/NON-EXEMPT POSITION
Iron County is accepting applications for the position of Part Time Secretary for the Council on Aging in Cedar City, UT. Will work under the general guidance and direction of the Center Director. This position will work approximately 10 hours per week, hours will be set and not flexible.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of duties related to assisting senior citizens in Iron County in person and over the phone, as well as providing information about the Senior Center as needed. Expected to conduct various clerical duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) or more years of recent related job experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have and maintain a valid Utah Driver License in accordance with Iron County Personnel Policy Section 30. Must pass a thorough criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Knowledge of COA programs and services; modern office practices and procedures.
Skill in customer service; working with and assisting seniors; maintaining organization and adhering to a set schedule with deadlines; word processing, spread-sheets, 10-key and other office-related computer programs.
Ability to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize responsibilities; maintain accuracy and attention to detail in work assignments; work unsupervised and accept responsibility for actions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; read, comprehend and apply rules, regulations, and procedures; maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
