Our facilities include our Tasting Room, Barn Venue, Headwaters and outdoor Court Yard and Patio spaces that are all located on a 120-acre farm, where growing grain and distilling spirit creates the backdrop for guests to enjoy and explore internationally awarded spirits, creatively crafted coupled with tasty cocktails and farm-to-table menu offerings. Our guests experience a warm inviting atmosphere where families, neighbors and friends travel out of their way and return with more friends to be part of the Iron Fish community. We also participate in a variety of off-site events where our spirits are showcased and served.
Iron Fish Distillery seeks an experienced hospitality leader that can build and coordinate our event business and also work hand in hand with our Creative & Marketing Director to support growth of our event brand through social media, events and other tactics. This leader will also work collaboratively with our Director of Food, Beverage, and Retail Operations and team in creating proposals and delivery of 5-star guest event experiences.
As a four-season tourism destination, this individual must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, most weekends (including holiday weekends) when prospects and guests desire tours of our facilities, discussions around event details or having us host their events.

Summary:
The Event Sales Coordinator is responsible for selling and promoting events that utilize our spaces; coordinating events to ensure great guest experiences; supporting our marketing of the Iron Fish brand through events, social media and other tactics. Successful execution of this role is key to building brand affinity, guest loyalty, sales, and profitability.
Iron Fish is a destination location. Pulling a unique demographic of clients is paramount to the success of events at Iron Fish. The success of this role depends on the amount of events booked, the variety of events, and the demographics of clients. Each quarter, the Event Sales Coordinator will host an agreed upon amount of Iron Fish hosted events to help the success of our events operations in our slower months.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a sales plan to generate event activities.
- Execute the sales plan and achieve budgeted goals.
- Take the lead role in soliciting events that can be hosted at our site (tied to incentive compensation).
- Creation of proposals that encompass food, cocktails, merchandise and other amenities (e.g. tour packages, cocktail classes, bartending and coordination services and other add on experiences) essential to events (working collaboratively with the retail team).
- Play the lead role and be on-site to coordinate all Iron Fish on-site events.
- Creating event orders that outline all aspects of the event including staffing, food, beverage,merchandise timeline and associated costs and posting on our IFD Calendar.
- Filing for permits, invoicing and development of specific event budgets.
- Takes responsibility for storage, inventory, cleaning, set-up and take down of all decorations, banners and event materials for on-site events
- Coordinate and provide direction on event space and grounds cleaning and maintenance in preparation for events.
- Vetting potential event candidates as well as training and coaching the team supporting events.
- Supervision of any event interns/staff and retail staff while participating in on-site events.
- Providing ideas and written content for marketing literature and merchandise gift items that can be sold to clients as part of our event offerings.
- Plan, coordinate and work events sponsored by our retail operation locally/regionally that are off-site.
- Working with marketing to ensure posting of event content on multiple social media sites.
- Solicit post event feedback that lends credibility to our brand and formally thanking each customer who books an event.
- Coordinate live music throughout the seasons. Work with local musicians on scheduling, and payments.
- Perform other duties as needed to support retail operations.

Desired Experience/Expertise
- Hospitality and event experience preferred.
- Sales and proposal development experience desirable.

- Ability to manage and track several projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of POS systems (e.g. Square) Microsoft Office or Google Docs preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull or push up to 50lbs.
Compensation Range - $40,000 - $50,000 - that includes base and incentive tied to number of events booked, food, merchandise and beverage sales.

Experience in Customer service (Preferred)
Work Location: Primarily Iron Fish Distillery in Thompsonville with multiple locations for off-site events. The event sales coordinator is expected to be onsite for all scheduled events, while also maintaining office hours once a month on a weekend to provide clear scheduling for guests and potential client visits. Office hours will vary from peak season (May-October) to non peak season (November-April).
