Steel Erector

Steel Erector Job Description:

• Must have welding experience - 3G/4G welding certification required
• Must be able to install metal stairs, decks, handrails, awnings, small structure, and other miscellaneous metal parts.
• Examine drawings and specifications to assess job requirements.
• Erect ladders, scaffolding or working cage.
• Direct hoisting and positioning of girders and other metal parts and check alignment.
• Arrange for or undertake bolting and welding of metal parts.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
• Comply with standards and procedures of Iron Man Millwrights, LLC, Health and Safety Manual and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
• Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required.
• Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
• Job requires travel around Athens and surrounding cities in Georgia. Some out of state travel may be required.

Qualifications:

- Must have a 3G and/or 4G welding certification
- Previous experience as an ironworker or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of construction principles
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment relevant to the trade
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working at heights
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

**Rate of pay will be determined based on level of knowledge and experience.**

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
