Iron Oak Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting reporting to the Director of Accounting & Tax in assisting in managing the accounting operations during our transition to a standalone company. This is a unique opportunity to be part of developing Iron Oak Energy’s standalone accounting and financial reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Transition - Assist in transitioning from shared accounting services to establishing Iron Oak Energy’s standalone accounting function.
- Monthly Activity - Record monthly activities and perform reconciliations for corporate accounts, including equity compensation, income taxes, and post-retirement benefit plans.
- Month-End Closing - Oversee the month-end closing process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow management, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial report generation.
- Financial Statements - Prepare monthly financial statements and relevant information for the monthly reporting package.
- Forecasting and Budgeting - Assist in preparing periodic forecasts and the annual budget.
- Technical Accounting - Research and document technical accounting issues.
- Quarterly Reports - Assist in preparing quarterly financial statements and compliance certificates for reporting under the company’s credit agreement.
- Compliance - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls - Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Financial Analysis - Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Team Support - Support the Director of Accounting & Tax in leading and managing the accounting team.
- Performance Monitoring - Assist in monitoring and optimizing the company’s financial performance and risk management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong technical accounting skills (GAAP) and financial reporting background.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably IFS or similar systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across functions.
- Leadership skills with experience in supervising or managing a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IFS or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with ERP implementations and integrations.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
