POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has a special emphasis on event set up and break down, systems monitoring, custodial tasks, turf/court/grounds maintenance, climbing and safety equipment checks and installs, kitchen equipment maintenance, sporting equipment set up and repair, and general organization and tidiness of the venue.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Facility Maintenance Tasks
- Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility around daily activities
- Event/Activity set up, break down, and operational support
- Inventory, organize, and stock closets, equipment sheds, toolboxes, and maintenance areas
- Manage utilities (lights, temperature controls, heaters, etc.)
- Maintain and repair playing surfaces
- Perform light maintenance on facility equipment and coordinate with Directors on repairs
Grounds Maintenance
- Monitor overall appearance and cleanliness of the building
- Maintain all walkways, flower beds, and dome, keeping clear of weeds, trash, water, ice, snow, etc.
- Operate and maintain sports and maintenance machinery and equipment
- Maintain all trees, lawns, shrubbery, and flower beds
- Clean and maintain parking lot
- Keep inventory of supplies and equipment as well as maintenance logs
- Follow up with GM to learn how the facility can be improved
- Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed and required by activity
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- General knowledge of event set up/break down, maintenance, janitorial & landscaping
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification required
- At least 1-2 years of related experience
- Must enjoy a fast-paced environment and be able to work well under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and a stellar work ethic
- Must be a team player with a positive can-do attitude
- Must be able to work long and flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; this position requires shifts on Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications within a specific period upon hire
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- May be required to stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
- Pushing/pulling/lifting 50 pounds
- Ability to navigate around the facility for long periods of time
- Ability to climb elevated areas to complete tasks (i.e., lift for scoreboards, etc.)
- Facility has intermittent noise
