The IRONCLAD Producer/Editor is responsible for all aspects of show production, including conceptualizing guest and topic ideas, writing episode rundowns, engineering episodes, overseeing studio technology, editing content, uploading to distribution platforms, and writing show notes.

Description

Creative & Content Skills:

Storytelling & Episode Structuring:
  • Strong storytelling abilities to ensure episodes flow naturally and engage listeners.
  • Experience in creating episode rundowns and developing show formats.
Copywriting & Show Notes:
  • Ability to write clear and engaging rundowns for episodes.
  • Writing informative, concise, and compelling show notes for distribution and SEO purposes.
Creative Input & Collaboration:
  • Ability to collaborate with hosts, producers, and other team members to brainstorm ideas and shape the creative direction of the podcast.


Technical Skills:

Audio Editing & Mixing:
  • Oversee the engineering and technical execution of individual episodes.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe, Pro Tools, Audacity, Logic Pro) to edit and refine audio files.
  • Ability to balance audio levels, remove background noise, and enhance sound quality.
Sound Design & Music Integration:
  • Expertise in selecting, editing, and integrating music, sound effects, and other audio elements to enhance the listening experience.
Microphone Setup & Audio Engineering:
  • Manage and maintain studio technology to ensure seamless production.
  • Knowledge of different types of microphones and audio equipment.
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot recording equipment, ensuring clear, high-quality sound.
File Management & Distribution:
  • Understanding of file formats (e.g., MP3, WAV, AIFF) and appropriate file compression for distribution across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with podcast hosting platforms and distributing content across multiple channels.


Communication & Organizational Skills:

Project Management:
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple episodes, timelines, and production tasks effectively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently and manage workflow efficiently.
Attention to Detail:
  • A keen eye (or ear) for spotting technical issues, continuity errors, and inconsistencies in the content.
Communication Skills:
  • Clear communication with the team, hosts, and guests to ensure smooth operations throughout the production process.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to hosts or guests on delivery, pacing, and content.
