What are the responsibilities and job description for the Set-Up Technician for 3rd position at IRONWOOD PLASTICS?
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Set-Up Technician is responsible for providing error free and efficient set-ups and changeovers and startup of molds and auxiliary equipment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES IN THE ROLE:
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures. All Quality Systems procedures and work instructions are consistently followed.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed to support customer requirements.
- Keeps Production Team Leaders informed of any problems that may impact schedule completion or overall cost of production schedule.
- Works with the Production Team Leaders to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Performs other duties or tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Production Team Leader or Technical Operations Manager.
- Participates in daily schedule change decisions and provide necessary support.
- Perform Injection Mold set-up and changeovers & secondary set-up and changeovers.
- Performs startup of injection molding presses.
- Performs barrel changes as part of the set-up process.
- Performs all material handling functions of a set up or changeover.
- Communicate all daily problems/concerns to Production Team Leaders.
- Communicate all system related suggestions and concerns to the Technical Operations Manager (IWD) Production Manager (TR)
- Maintain documentation systems related to mold set-up, changeover and start up.
- Any other duties that may be necessary to accomplish the goals of this position or goals of the company
- Complete PI Training
- Backup Setup Techs will complete the Annual Setup Sheet
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- · High School diploma or Equivalent
· Able to use Microsoft products (MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel). Able to effectively use company ERP system (IQMS) in areas that pertain to your responsibilities.
· Experience with Injection Molding presses and auxiliary equipment.
· Basic understanding of Molding equipment and tooling
· Must have training on the Overhead Crane System and Mold Storage.
· Pass Set Pull Level 1, Level 2 and Start Up Training Outline
Ability to perform functions of Product Inspector
· Perform Material Handling functions
· Must be able to Maintain fork truck license

CORE HOURS:
Night Shift: 10:45pm-7:15am Monday-Friday
