Tree Service Groundsman

Overview

Ironwood Tree Co. is looking for a hardworking Groundsman to join our tree removal and trimming crew. If you like working outdoors, don’t mind getting dirty, and can haul logs without complaining, this might be the job for you. The ideal candidate is someone who can keep up with the physical demands of the job, pay attention to safety, and work well with a team. No prior tree work experience? No problem, just bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take direction without rolling your eyes.

Responsibilities

Gas up and maintain chainsaws and other equipment so they’re always ready to go.

Handle ropes, including rigging and lowering branches (no, you won’t be climbing yet).

Drag and load limbs like your paycheck depends on it’s because it does.

Keep the job site clean and organized so we don’ be t look like a bunch of amateurs.

Assist climbers and bucket operators by anticipating their needs (without being asked).

Follow all safety guidelines because getting crushed by a tree is not part of the job.

Work efficiently in various weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, or all three in one day).

Qualifications

No experience? No problem. Experience? Even better.

Strong physical stamina you’ll be dragging limbs, lifting logs, and hustling all day.

Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team (no lone wolves).

Basic mechanical skills for maintaining chainsaws and equipment.

Comfortable working in an outdoor environment with heavy equipment and loud noises.

Valid drivers license required (bonus points if you can back up a trailer).
