Deputy Clerk

Job Title: Full Time Deputy Clerk

Department: County Clerk and Recorder

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. -4:30 P.M

Pay Rate: $16.40. Benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid holidays, vacation, paid leave, personal days, and sick time; IMRF pension.

Start Date: February 3, 2025

Job Description:

Seeking an outgoing individual with accurate data entry, proofing, communication and customer service skills with the ability to organize and maintain work flow independently. The individual must have the ability to comprehend and follow procedures and protocol. Assist with customer service requests. Perform any and all other duties in the office where needed as assigned by the County Clerk, including working with vital records, collecting delinquent tax redemptions. Election duties will include, but are not limited to accurate and timely data entry of voter registrations into the registration database, produce notifications via mail and email to those registering to vote, taking requests and processing Vote by Mail ballots, assisting voters with Early Voting, as well as various aspects of election preparation including coordinating election judges all while maintaining friendly, efficient, and accurate service.

Qualifications:

· Experience in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Ability to quickly learn internal databases

· Ability to work in a team environment, sharing capabilities and learn from others

· Ability to be proactive, maintain timelines, work independently, multi-task, follow existing procedures and update as needed

· Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations is vital

· Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

· Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and must be able to work well with coworkers

· Must handle phone calls

· Must be able to handle confidential matters and exercise discretion and judgement

· Must be able to carry or lift 30 lbs.

· Will require some evenings and weekend hours during election time

· Professional dress code required
