Job Title: Staff Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Matthews, NC 28105 (Onsite, Monday–Friday)
Hourly Pay: $26-30/hr W2
Conversion Salary: $60k-65k
Duration: Contract-to-hire (6 months)
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a highly collaborative accounting team in the Charlotte area. This hands-on role will work closely with leadership to manage key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and a team-player mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to management.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording and summarizing transactions.
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
- Review and post daily invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct inventory adjustments, transfers, and cycle counts as needed.
- Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation.
- Work cross-functionally to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting experience, including AP/AR, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, data analysis).
- Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
- Experience with Salespad and Great Plains is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a small team environment and wear multiple hats.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively.
