What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Accounts Specialist position at Irvine Technology Corporation?
We have an immediate need for a contract Student Accounts Specialist to join our client, a private liberal arts college. The Student Accounts Specialist is responsible for accurate data entry and updating information for student accounts, including billing, cash receipts and monthly transactions.
What You Will Do
- Answers incoming student account phone calls and assists parents and students accordingly
- Saves all Journal reports for financial aid, student accounts and student billing
- Posts billing charges that need to be updated to student accounts, wire payments, returned checks/fees to student’s accounts
- Provide general support to visitors that walk into the office
- Responsible for working cross-functionally with other teams, building customer relationships, and other special projects, as necessary
- Post any approved emergency grants to student accounts and processes any returned payments
- Processes Ad Hoc Refunds and E-Refunds
- Posts Financial Aid updates to student accounts, student health service charges and fines
- Processes students billing statements in CX and publish in Transact
- Runs month end reports and sends to accounting dept
What Gets You The Job
- Graduation from high school with extensive courses beyond high school equivalent to one or two years of college or business school; or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability
- Familiarity with accounting (accounts receivables) and bookkeeping or related experience
- Must have some accounting knowledge to assist in processing reconciliation of some clearing accounts
- Familiar with college billing and refund policies, institutional and FERPA confidentiality regulations; and Federal Title IV cash management regulations
- Must know how to use Office Suite software including intermediate understanding of Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas, functions, etc.)
- Must be able to have a high level of organization and ability to prioritize a few deliverables at a time
