What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager/Estimator Bridge Division position at Irving Materials Inc?
Purpose of Position: An Estimator / Project Manager plays a key role in the overall operations of E & B Paving. This person is a customer service representative who has internal and external customers. The external customers are new and existing clients. Internal customers are his/her fellow co-workers and teammates. It is their responsibility to be actively involved in projects, from bidding to collection. They must understand all aspects of the project and offer assistance to the field when needed. Communication amongst all parties is vital to success. Communication includes verbal and non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes paperwork given to the field. The estimator/ project engineer must learn to prioritize their tasks and utilize their time appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Maintains existing business relationships and creates new opportunities
- Responsible for Bridge, Grade and Drain takeoffs, estimating, and document control
- Works closely with field superintendents and Area manager
- Assists contract administrator with billing and receivables
Requirements:
- At least 5 yrs. experience estimating INDOT, KYTC, municipal, and commercial projects.
- Must have extensive knowledge of INDOT and KYTC specifications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project as well as digitizing takeoff software
- Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- Working knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid/ Heavy Job is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction related field OR equivalent related experience.
Compensation:
Dependent on experience and qualifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
