Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technicianof the Gear Box Division will be responsible for evaluating and performing analysis on new and used gearing, gear boxes, equipment parts, and heavy-duty chain. This position will also be responsible for supporting continuous improvement of new and existing products to provide customer service, reduce costs, and support new product applications.
Division Summary:
Irwin Mine and Tunneling Supply (a division of Irwin Car and Equipment) is known for delivering exceptional quality and customized precision in the metal, mining, tunneling, energy, and transportation industries. An engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in designing industry-leading customized industrial material handling equipment and systems that is cost effective without compromising on the rugged quality. Products include belt winders and stands, belt tensioners, mobile tramming equipment, tow tractors, underground utility machines, rock dusting (flame propagation) equipment, hydraulic power units (electric and diesel), and many others.
Our manufacturing operations are located at a 90,000 square-foot facility in Irwin, PA (near Pittsburgh), and at our 50,000 square-foot facility in Blairsville, PA.
We operate distribution warehouses and rebuild shops in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Illinois, Alabama, Utah, and Virginia allowing us to provide fast and convenient service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Gearbox Analysis for repair and rebuild
· Train and Supervise shop technicians
· Provide sales support and identify new areas of opportunity with our customer base
Skills/Experience:
· 3 years of experience working with heavy duty manufacturing
· Preferred Experience Rebuilding Gearboxes
· Help to recognize gearbox wear, troubleshoot failures, and build preventative maintenance plans
· Understands engineering drawings
· Machining and welding skills
· Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, hardness checkers and height gauges
· Knowledgeable in metallurgical testing and requirements
· Competent in Microsoft Office Products

Some travel may be required up to 5%
