Job Title: Registered Dietitian
Salary Range: $84,000 - $115,000 annually (Dependent on experience)
Location: Delano & Bakersfield area
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team and provide exceptional care to patients, focusing on renal nutrition. The ideal candidate will build trusting relationships with patients and their families, utilizing dietary education and planning to directly impact their quality of life. You will be responsible for patient assessments, creating individualized nutritional plans, and providing ongoing nutritional support, particularly for those with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and federal, state, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information with discretion, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Communicate professionally and tactfully with patients, their families, physicians, co-workers, and external agencies to foster positive relationships.
- Collaborate with Long-Term Care Facilities to ensure patients receive appropriate care related to renal diets and medications.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for dialysis patients, offering ongoing instruction, counseling, and educational materials.
- Monitor adherence to prescribed diets and review patients' monthly lab work to ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Assist in obtaining IDPN, nutritional resources, and protocols as needed.
- Actively participate in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), contributing to Comprehensive Assessments and Plans of Care and attending care plan meetings.
- Engage in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) team, monitoring clinical indicators, attending meetings, and assisting in the Continuous Quality Improvement process.
- Stay up-to-date on national and state renal nutritional services programs and changes in dietary guidelines.
- Review lab work and make recommendations on medications and diet orders in collaboration with attending physicians, following state regulations.
- Assist with obtaining IPN and nutritional supplements for patients as needed.
- Refer patients to appropriate resources for financial assistance, community services, or in-home assistance, ensuring access to necessary nutritional supplements.
- Perform job duties in accordance with state and licensing requirements.
- Support Clinic Leadership with other projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the Commission of Dietetics Registry (Required).
- State Licensure: Current state licensure (if required by the state) and compliance with state-specific regulations (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian (Required).
- Membership: Member of the American Dietetic Association (Strongly Preferred).
- ESRD Experience: Previous experience with nutrition for ESRD patients (Preferred).
- Continuing Education: Responsible for maintaining registration and completing continuing education hours as specified by the American Dietetic Association.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
