ISCD is an international network of industry professionals with more than 1,700 individual members from over 25 countries, collaborating in a way that transcends borders to advance the ISCD vision and mission. We are dedicated to advancing excellence in the assessment of musculoskeletal health through education, certification, and facility accreditation.
The Director of Education is responsible for the successful development, execution, and evaluation of the organization’s learning programs.
Essential Duties
· Lead the development, execution, and management of high-quality educational programs in various mediums: face-to-face, virtual, and digital learning.
· Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify as necessary the educational strategy to be in alignment with organizational goals and mission.
· Evaluate members’ learning needs; develop a program(s) to meet those needs.
· Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop new educational program content utilizing relevant, innovative, educational access media (e.g., in-person and virtual training courses, digital learning, interactive learner engagement, etc.).
· Develop and execute programs with the CEO, Staff, Board, Education Committee Chair, and relevant committees.
· Develop, present for approval, and implement appropriate educational policies.
Job performance goals in the first year
· Review and implement the education strategy.
· Develop and execute new programs in areas identified by the education strategy and learner needs assessment.
· Ensure program engagement and target numbers (attendance and budget expectations) are met and that programs are sustainable.
· Appropriate engagement of Subject Matter Experts.
· Provide budget recommendations for current and new programs.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred; Education emphasis in adult, continuing or professional education or related degree. Appropriate experience may be substituted for emphasis on education.
· Understanding the need and requirements to offer appropriate continuing medical education (CME) credit for our various programs. Currently offer ACCME and ASRT CME.
· Record of successful experience in medical education grant writing and reconciliation.
· Broad knowledge of and demonstrated history of success in business practices, educational theory, and instructional technology applicable to delivering the educational curriculum.
· General Association Management skills; able to forge partnerships and expand programs.
· Strong experience with office technology, including Microsoft Office, and learning other software, including Association Management System and Learning Management System (Protech and Elevate).
· Excellent member service mentality and delivery; effective oral and written communications; and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to think proactively and creatively.
· Must excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A cooperative, supportive, and “can-do” attitude is crucial to success with both internal and external stakeholders. This person must have integrity and credibility with leaders, members, and staff.
· The ability to travel, domestically and internationally, over multiple days and weekends is required.
· The ability to meet with stakeholders on a time schedule that works for their schedules, often after normal business hours and weekends.
· Ability to work educational activities, live in-person and live zoom, that run over weekends and evenings.
· Medical Society/Association experience preferred.
Reporting Structure & Work Location
This position reports to the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Our offices are in Middletown, CT, USA. Our office operates on a hybrid model, with this position expected to be in the office twice a week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The salary range for the position is expected to be $95,000.
