What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guitar Instructor position at iSchool of Music and Art?
iSchool of Music and Art is looking to hire a passionate GUITAR instructor capable of training students age 6 and above. Applicants need to have a friendly demeanor and positive attitude around lessons and music education. Applicants must have at least two years previous experience working with young students.
Teachers meet with students once a week for lessons ranging 30-60 minutes. Applicants should be well versed in TAB, Chords, Note Reading, and Music Theory as it applies to the guitar. Applicants should have a preferred method book to teach from (i.e. Hal Leonard) and emphasize both universal music techniques and modern/ rock/ pop music repertoire. Preferably familiar with NYSSMA requirements as well.
Opportunities to lead Student Bands and Major Ensembles!
Applicants must be willing to contractually commit to at least one year from the start date (fall and spring semesters, summer availability as well.)
