Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive ECU (Electronic Control Unit) integration, vehicle network interfaces (LIN, CAN, Ethernet), and USB communication with in-vehicle systems such as the Head Unit and infotainment system. This role requires close collaboration with OEM customers, internal teams, and the headquarters’ R&D department to ensure seamless product development, validation, and mass production.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize wireless charging and USB charging/data modules for automotive applications.
- Conduct circuit design, PCB layout reviews, and system integration to meet automotive standards.
- Analyze and validate ICs (MCUs, PMICs, wireless charging controllers, USB controllers, etc.) and other key components.
- Review and analyze BOM (Bill of Materials) to ensure component selection aligns with OEM requirements, cost efficiency, and automotive quality standards.
- Ensure designs comply with functional safety (ISO 26262), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/ESD), and thermal management best practices.
- Integrate USB modules with vehicle ECUs, such as the Head Unit and infotainment system, ensuring seamless communication and power management.
- Understand and implement automotive communication protocols (LIN, CAN, Ethernet) for USB module connectivity.
- Ensure compliance with Qi (Wireless Power Consortium), USB-IF, and automotive EMC/ESD standards.
- Support and manage regulatory certification processes to meet OEM and industry requirements.
- Ensure adherence to AEC-Q100/Q200, ISO 26262, RoHS, REACH, and other automotive regulations.
- Investigate and resolve hardware-related issues during development, validation, and mass production.
- Conduct failure analysis (FA) and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the quality team.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other debugging tools to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Work with automotive network debugging tools to analyze and troubleshoot LIN, CAN, and Ethernet communication issues.
- Debug USB communication and power issues related to interaction with vehicle ECUs (Head Unit, infotainment system, etc.)
- Act as the technical interface between our company (Tier 1) and OEM customers, ensuring their requirements are met.
- Provide technical support for OEMs during design reviews, testing, and validation phases.
- Respond to customer inquiries and work on design modifications based on OEM feedback and specifications.
- Support on-site and remote troubleshooting of hardware-related issues reported by OEMs.
- Work closely with headquarters’ R&D teams to align development efforts and resolve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, validation, and quality teams to ensure system-level optimization.
- Support manufacturing teams by resolving production-related hardware issues and improving yield.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in hardware development for automotive or consumer electronics.
- Bilingual in Korean and English is required
- Strong knowledge of IC selection, passive/active components, and BOM analysis.
- Expertise in wireless charging (Qi), USB charging/data protocols (USB-PD, USB 3.x), and power electronics.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs and understanding their validation and approval processes.
- Familiarity with automotive EMC/ESD standards, AEC-Q100/Q200, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, etc.).
- Experience in automotive ECU integration, particularly with Head Units and infotainment systems.
- Knowledge and experience with automotive network interfaces (LIN, CAN, Ethernet) for USB and charging module communication.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and certification processes
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze hardware issues effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in customer-facing roles.
- Hands-on experience with automotive network analysis tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, Wireshark for automotive Ethernet).
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
