Responsibilities
The Network Specialist II (Cable Plant) will be in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Command in Panama City, Florida. working with the NSWC PCD Network Manager in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of the NSWC PCD networks infrastructure, to include NSWC PCD RDT&E and NMCI and to diagnose physical network connectivity problems.
The CP II will work with the Network Specialist CP I in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of a broad range of telecommunications cabling media to include fiber optic, Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP), coaxial and main feeder cable.
Install cable racks, conduit, Panduit and other support structures for the protection and aesthetics of cables. Test cable for signal quality, continuity, and availability.
- Perform cable plant troubleshooting, fabrication and installation to include, CAT 5 / 6, RJ-11, RJ-45 termination, and basic fiber optic, media converters, copper / fiber modems
repair / troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
Education : HS diploma or equivalent
Experience and Requirements :
active communication equipment.
Security Clearance : Requires U.S. Citizenship and an active government security clearance.
