Position Summary
Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is seeking a highly organized and qualified individual to serve as the Special Initiatives Manager within the CEO Office. The Special Initiatives Manager is responsible for researching, developing, proposing, and/or managing a wide range of projects, initiatives, and strategies to help promote the growth, impact and efficiency of the organization. The individual is expected to propose, assume responsibility, and/or carry out initiatives that facilitate projects and initiatives as they arise and as assigned by the CEO. The individual must be both a strategic leader and a detailed, hands-on project manager specialist. The Special Initiatives Manager will be responsible for evaluating the strategies and programs undertaken to determine their effectiveness and using that information to modify them as needed. The individual will play a critical role in following up, communicating and managing various departments and stakeholders in a wide variety of activities and reports when implementing special projects and initiatives. The Special Initiatives Manager must be able to work on projects independently, from conception to completion and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, delivery, and evaluation of an array of special projects, initiatives, and programs, including ongoing and existing projects emanating from the CEO Office.
- Research and monitor a wide variety of programs and processes to promote the growth, success, and effectiveness of IRUSA operations.
- Work with relevant employees, managers and stakeholders to monitor progress, ensure proper reporting, and execute projects and initiatives as needed in an effective and collaborative environment.
- Perform research and analysis as needed on a wide range of topics related to humanitarian and development issues, charitable institutions, and organizational matters as needed.
- Manage and maintain organizational insurance coverage and policies for all departments and various activities; collect relevant data and documents; interface with internal staff and external counsel as needed.
- Draft, review, and revise proposals for existing and new initiatives and provide appropriate follow-up from conception to completion of special projects and initiatives.
- Support the management and communication with external counsel and internal staff as needed.
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments in the humanitarian and development charitable sector.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced degree required, Juris Doctor preferred.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience including project management experience.
- A track record of success in developing and executing programs in a complex, multi-layered, fast paced work environment.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with all employee groups to contribute to a transparent, efficient and productive work environment.
- A strategic and creative thinker who can execute multiple, competing demands under pressure.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in assessing compliance risks and developing solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex humanitarian and development concepts clearly.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
