Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with buyers of specialty retail stores such as surf shops, tackle shops, and resort gift shops within your assigned territory. You will be provided with sample products and catalogs to promote our coastal inspired clothing brand to the buyers of these stores. The ideal candidate will be a self starter with great people skills. Previous sales experience is preferred but not required. This position requires excellent territory management skills and a proactive approach to increasing sales.
Duties
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail store buyers through regular communication and follow-ups.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities within assigned territories.
- Manage the sales process from prospecting to closing the sale.
- Collaborate with the inside sales team to align strategies and share insights on market trends.
- Utilize technology effectively to track sales activities, manage leads, and report on performance metrics.
- Participate in trade shows, networking events, and other promotional activities to represent the company and expand your network.
- Provide feedback on product performance and customer preferences to support product development initiatives.
Requirements
- Outside sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Sales representatives that market for other companies concurrently is acceptable as long as Island Goat is the only apparel brand you represent.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Territory management, ensuring optimal coverage of assigned areas.
- Familiarity with retail sales dynamics is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills, capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have your own reliable vehicle.
Compensation
- You will be paid 15% commission on every wholesale order within your specified territory, both new accounts and previously established accounts.
- Commission checks paid out weekly.
