What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Island Hospitality Management-Corporate Office?
We are looking for a Financial Analyst that directly supports our Outdoors Portfolio. This high-impact role assists the executive team's decision-making on various financial and operational issues. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company. This individual will perform a variety of functions including analytics, projections, ownership of the budget process, and business modeling. The Financial Analyst is expected to contribute as a thought leader in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior financial experience within the hospitality industry.
Requirements:Job Requirements
- Collaboration with relative departments for the creation of financial projection models
- Full underwriting for valuation purposes
- Identify potential opportunities
- Prepare presentations to be provided to investors
- Discuss underwriting with capital partners Periodic re-forecasting of operating budgets throughout the year
- Analyzing budget vs actual financial reports monthly, communicating with departments on findings, and assisting in plans of improvement
- Analyze historical and projected financial and operational information with the goal of delivering actionable recommendations for improvement to operations
- Continuous improvement of financial reporting, budgeting, and modeling processes
- In-depth analysis data including cash flow forecasting, sales analysis, sales forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability projections
- Identify, analyze, and communicate to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department

- Develop complex modeling tools to support critical decision-making and guide strategic thinking around P&L and key financial and operating metrics
- Accurately provide reports to assist management in forecasting revenue/expenses
- Provide reports to anticipate revenue/cost problems and manage the timing of discretionary expenditures to stabilize cash flow
Job Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in Finance or Accounting is required and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Background in public accounting and/or a similar analytical position is required
- Must be highly self-motivated in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to make connections and understand reporting dependencies
- Must have the ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and follow through
- Strong verbal and written communications skills Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and when necessary, shift priorities quickly
- Must be able to work independently (extensive analysis of data)
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels throughout the organization
- Ability to meet deadlines and provide complete products in a professional and presentable format
- Prior to financial experience within the hospitality industry
