What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Analyst position at Isle of Wight County?
This position performs technical and administrative development-related tasks to expand or encourage and assist new businesses in locating in the county. Tasks include directing related research activities, developing marketing efforts and materials, and developing strategies for businesses. Receives and responds to inquiries from businesses, manufacturers, and other industries. Compiles information and composes activity reports. Establishes and maintains demographic information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Requires the use of fingers, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

- Performs technical and administrative development related tasks to expand or encourage and assist new businesses to locate in the County; assists the department in the attraction, expansion and retention of businesses;
- Maintains and updates the Economic Development website;
- Performs related research and marketing activities; conducts specific target company research; develops marketing efforts and materials;
- Receives and responds to inquiries from businesses, manufacturers, and other industries; develops strategies for businesses; responds to requests for information from individuals interested in materials about the County;
- Compiles information and composes activity reports
- Establishes and maintains demographic information;
- Designs marketing materials and PowerPoint presentations, and manages social media accounts;
- Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, logs, membership lists, flyers, brochures, maps, photographs, manuals, reference materials, and other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate;
- Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to an employee’s work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with County policy;
- Performs other assigned duties.

- College Degree in Marking, Public Relations, Business Administration or Public Administration;
- Two (2) years of related work experience;
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience
