Islebrook Village is Maine's newest senior living community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments for rent. Scheduled to open in March 2025, we are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Housekeepers to join our team.
Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning all common areas and resident apartments. He or she must have the ability to follow proper policies and procedures and should be proactive and attentive to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Dust wall vents, handrails, ceiling fans, baseboards, furniture and blinds.
- Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets and furniture as needed.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, ensuring that all paper goods and soap dispensers are stocked adequately.
- Check for and remove marks from walls.
- Empty trash cans in resident apartments and common areas.
- Follow proper cleaning and infection control policies and procedures.
- Document provision of services in accordance with Company policy.
- Observe and promptly report any changes in residents’ physical and/or cognitive/emotional status to supervisor and/or Resident Care Director.
- Reports any suspected or witnessed instances of verbal, mental or physical abuse and/or neglect to the Resident Care Director and/or Executive Director promptly.
- Report any hazards, violations, or sanitation issues to the Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping.
- Work collaboratively with peers and other team members to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all residents.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, particularly when interacting with residents and their families.
- Communicate with residents, family members and guests in a respectful, diplomatic manner. Collaborate with associates in other departments to ensure that resident needs are being met appropriately.
- Support or participate in resident-centered activity programs, projects, committees, meetings or other events as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Possess an affinity for working with seniors.
- Professional and neat appearance and presentation, including adherence to the dress code and good personal hygiene.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
- Maine background check is required.
Physical Requirements
To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, lift, carry, squat, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull and twist using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time. The employee must be able to work with hazardous chemicals. He or she must be free from communicable disease and may be asked to complete a physical exam and drug test prior to hiring. He or she must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
