Position Summary:
Assist in the responsibilities of developing and promoting a safe environment for customers and employees of the Isleta Resort and Casino. All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests. Assists in implementing changes to policies and procedures while adhering to all Tribal, Federal, State, and OSHA regulations.
Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement
All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

- Maintains safety programs to protect employees against harm, and maintains safe working conditions.
- Formulates and suggests work safety standards, and enforces procedures. Risk prevention areas include hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions.
- Meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations.
- Provides safety training.
- Conducts regular inspections, reports potential hazards to the appropriate department for repairs, and follow-up to ensure unsafe conditions are addressed to prevent or mitigate workplace injuries.
- Works with management to coordinate monthly safety committee meetings to provide emergency preparedness and safety training and materials to department safety representatives.
- Monitors operations and policies to ensure compliance with all governing agencies and make recommendations for updates and changes to policies, programs, and processes, as necessary.
- Assists management in ensuring the Resort and Casino is in compliance with all federal, state, and OSHA codes and regulations.
- Assists in updating, developing, and recommending policies and procedures for emergency planning and process improvements involving safe operating procedures.
- Submits weekly progress reports to the Supervisor of Safety for evaluation.
- Maintains spreadsheets, databases, records, and files of all safety section activities.
- Assists management in all root cause analyses and incident investigations; to include, preparation of reports, indicating lessons learned, and recommendations presented to the responsible department with the Supervisor of Safety endorsement.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent, required.
- 2- or 4-year college degree in related studies, preferred.
- 3 years safety training experience, required; preferable in a casino environment.
- Certifications in Industrial Safety, Fire Protection, and Life Saving Training, must be obtained with first 6 months of employment.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
- Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
- Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
- Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to deliver training in a professional and concise manner.
- Must be able to recognize and identify potential safety hazards, use critical thinking skills in incident investigations and root cause analyses, and exercise professional judgment skills on a daily basis.
- Must be sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department and the relationship with other department.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, or stoop in awkward positions for extended period’s time.
- May be required to climb ladders of various heights, engage in confined space entry, and manipulate objects with fingers, rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).
- Must be able to see and hear within normal parameter.
- Must be able to extend hands and arms in any direction.
- Must be able to lift, move, and place loads up to 75 pounds with assistance.
