The Islip Town Democratic Committee is dedicated to engaging and mobilizing our community through progressive leadership, grassroots efforts, relational organizing and effective communication. We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to help enhance our digital presence and support our outreach efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and curate engaging content for our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky).
- Monitor trends and create timely posts that align with our mission and campaign goals.
- Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns to boost engagement and visibility.
- Track analytics and provide insights on audience growth, engagement, and content performance.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a consistent brand voice across all digital platforms.
- Support event promotion and live coverage on social media.
Qualifications
- Studying or has experience in Marketing, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Fluent in graphic design and using software such as Canva or the Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Passion for political engagement and community organising.
- Photography and videography skills are a huge plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Creole/Urdu is a plus.
