Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to support students in their learning environment, particularly those with special needs, including autism. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere and promoting the academic and social development of all students.
30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Provide support to students with autism and other special needs, ensuring they have the necessary resources for success.
- Facilitate small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring sessions focusing on literacy education and childhood development.
- Help maintain a positive classroom environment by managing student behavior and promoting respectful interactions.
- Participate in curriculum development activities, contributing ideas that enhance learning experiences for all students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs and achievements.
- Assist with classroom management tasks, including organizing materials and preparing learning spaces.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to Montessori methods and effective teaching strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current school-based experience preferred
- Solid data collection experience preferred
- Behavioral background experience preferred
- Safety Care trained preferred
Responsibilities/Expectations/Duties:
- Provide support at one school site
- Collect student data as directed by the Behavior Supervisor or SPED teacher
- Maintain calmness, flexibility, and professional attitude with students, supervisors, and colleagues.
- Excellent attendance and reliability are vital.
- Assist specialists as directed for school readiness, and pre-academics, facilitating social interactions during recess and group activities.
- A genuine passion for educating children and contributing positively to their growth.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $24.69 - $28.96 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
