Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, including double-entry bookkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage debits and credits to maintain balanced accounts.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance, ensuring timely filing of all necessary documents.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Xero, for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
- Support corporate accounting functions by preparing financial statements and reports as needed.
- Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits or financial reviews.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles is essential.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and bank reconciliation is required.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role.
