Long Term Substitute - Special Educator - Social Emotional Therapeutic Program
The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a dynamic and experienced special education, long term substitute teacher to join a team of educators to work at the Loring School in a therapeutic, transitional inclusion program.
The position calls for experience with students who exhibit a range of disabilities impacting social, emotional, and behavioral functioning and/or an understanding of students who may be unable to process the social and academic demands as they surface in the course of a traditional school day. Emphasis is placed on social skill development, emotional regulation, and confidence building.
The successful candidate must have background and experience with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and must possess knowledge of and experience with positive behavior support systems, behavior intervention plans and trauma informed instruction. The successful candidate will also be knowledgeable about formal diagnostic assessment and ongoing progress monitoring using curriculum-based measurements. The teacher is responsible for the testing and evaluation of students for their three-year reevaluations. Candidate must have training and experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools.
