About IAC Ofek Program:
Ofek is an online learning hub where everyone can learn a variety of subjects from the comfort of their own home. We are offering Hebrew & Israeli Spirit classes. We have gathered the very best Hebrew teachers from around the country and given them a platform to teach a series of classes online. Courses are held in a small class setting that allows for direct interaction between students and teachers using state-of-the-art online learning tools specifically suited for online learning.
The IAC Ofek Teacher is responsible to leading children in the IAC Ofek activities. The IAC Ofek Teacher reports directly to the IAC Educational Director of Ofek Learning Hub.
Duties include and are not limited to:
The pay rate is based on the hours worked, which include both class time and preparation.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate and encourage active learning online in accordance with the IAC procedures, culture and objectives. Submit lessons plans to IAC Program Leader for review as needed.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide and use a variety of learning materials and resources for use in online class.
- Instruct, monitor and help students in the use of learning materials, equipment and online learning interface.
- Be familiar with the use of relevant technology to support and conduct the online learning process.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Take attendance and maintain attendance records.
- Prepare and participate in class’ parties throughout the year (usually around Jewish Holidays) as needed.
- Encourage students to learn as much as they can.
- Create a warm, accepting, encouraging inclusive environment in which the students can flourish and develop their learning skills and love for Israel.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments as needed. Upload the information to the platform to allow the parents to follow the student’s progress.
- Provide & maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Provide students and parents regularly with appropriate feedback on students’ work, progress and needs. If needed, inform the IAC Program Leader as well.
- Provide parents at the end of each lesson with a brief summary: What was learned, if homework was given, photos from the lesson, etc.
- Reach out to the parents (individually or as a group) at the beginning of the program to explain about the program, its objectives and the learning methods that will be used during the lessons.
- Participate in staff training, meetings, professional activities, seminars, and workshops as needed.
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing the program.
- At all times behave in accordance with the core values of the IAC.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 5 years of related job experience (teaching children in K-12 grade).
- Proficiency in Hebrew and English (Speaking, reading, writing).
- Familiarity with Israeli culture and Jewish tradition.
- Ability to teach online and use online teaching interfaces and materials.
- Natural love and ability to work and relate to children.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
- Action-oriented and ability to multitask.
- Creative, Energetic, and Proactive.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate issues to parents.
- Ability to get the most out of each child.
Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
