About the Role :
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Enterprise Applications plays a pivotal role in transforming enterprise application services from department-specific solutions to a cohesive strategic approach. This leadership position is responsible for driving the adoption of sustainable technology solutions, ensuring alignment between enterprise applications and objectives. By fostering collaboration with key stakeholders and promoting best practices, the AVP advances innovation in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and identity and access management (IAM).
As a senior leader, the AVP will shape the long-term vision for ERP and IAM initiatives, champion project management methodologies, and implement change management strategies to enhance technological outcomes. The role requires deep expertise in IT governance, enterprise applications, IAM, budget management, vendor partnerships, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of Enterprise Application Systems (EAS) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) teams.
Manage financial, budgetary, and human resources within the leadership portfolio to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with senior IT leadership to align enterprise technology initiatives.
Actively participate in senior staff meetings, contributing to IT leadership and organizational strategy.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
Represent IT services on cross-functional committees and strategic initiatives.
Stay informed on emerging trends in enterprise applications and IAM by engaging with external experts and professional organizations.
Foster collaboration with national and regional IT groups to drive knowledge sharing and innovation.
Cultivate strategic vendor relationships to optimize enterprise application investments.
Serve as a senior advisor on enterprise applications, offering guidance on technology planning and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree preferred. Experience :
Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a complex organization.
Strong background in ERP systems, particularly Oracle / PeopleSoft, with a strategic approach to long-term system planning and migration.
Experience working with enterprise software solutions, including learning management systems, portals, scheduling tools, and document management systems. Technical Skills :
Expertise in implementing, migrating, and managing ERP systems across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Extensive experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, including customization, integration, and ongoing support.
Deep understanding of strategic technology planning and enterprise IT governance.
Strong vendor management capabilities, with experience in negotiating contracts and optimizing vendor relationships. Certifications :
Relevant IT certifications preferred (e.g., PMP, ITIL, or ERP-specific certifications). Soft Skills :
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and align stakeholders with a shared vision.
High level of integrity, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Proven track record of leading ERP migrations to support institutional transformation.
