Jr. Network / System Administrator
Location : Syracuse, NY (On-Site)
Hours : 7 am - 3 : 30 pm
Job Type : Full-time, direct hire
Salary Range : $60,000 - $70,000 annually depending on experience
About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Jr. Network / System Administrator to provide first-line support for diagnosing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving IT issues. As the primary point of contact for users, this role will manage service requests while supporting network and system administration tasks. You will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, monitoring systems, and ensuring a seamless IT experience for employees.
Key Responsibilities :
Utilize service desk software to log, review, and escalate issues as needed, ensuring timely responses.
Monitor IT systems and network operations, gathering performance data and identifying potential issues.
Administer user access, network accounts, and identity and access management protocols.
Perform troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues while providing user education.
Assist in IT asset procurement, tracking, and deployment.
Create and update documentation for IT policies, procedures, and service desk knowledge base.
Install and update software, maintain security measures, and ensure data integrity.
Support IT infrastructure maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting, including networking and system administration tasks.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or 1–3 years of IT experience.
Experience :
Prior experience in a service desk, tech support, or system / network administration environment.
Strong problem-solving skills for resolving technical issues.
Technical Skills :
Familiarity with Windows 10 / 11 and Microsoft Office 365; experience with Mac OS and / or Linux is a plus.
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell) and automation.
Understanding of networking concepts, system administration, and IT infrastructure.
Certifications :
Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft certifications) are a plus.
Soft Skills :
Ability to conduct independent research and provide reports to support decision-making.
Strong customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to provide technical support effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette and attention to detail.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
