What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Operations Manager position at IST Logistics?
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overall terminal activities, including but not limited to, compliance of all company and customer standard operating procedures, safety rules and regulations, driver training, equipment troubleshooting for our pneumatic, liquid tank and dump fleet as well as completion of operational reporting to determine requirements for increasing profits and improving overall performance. Class A CDL drivers license is required.
Summary of essential job functions:
Ø Ensure continued growth and success of our business by recruiting, training, and ongoing management of drivers, this includes travel to satellite terminals
Ø Establish schedules for the cross training of essential personnel to ensure that staffing measures are in place for all driver coverage
Ø Develop long and short term operational strategies
Ø Develop and implement equipment service schedule at IST satellite terminals for both tractors and trailers. Ensure all maintenance records are maintained and recorded and preventative maintenance schedules are in order.
Ø Serve as a liaison with vendors and coordinate parts and supplies purchases as needed at satellite terminals
Ø Highly knowledgeable of DOT and HOS regulations
Ø Provide dispatch supervision as needed
Ø Control expenses of satellite terminals within company guidelines
Ø Safety accident response, root cause analysis
Minimum requirements:
Ø Associates or higher in logistics
Ø 10 years hands on driving and maintenance experience with tank and pneumatic trailers
Ø Extensive knowledge of liquid tank and pneumatic trailer operations
Ø Must be available to work extended hours, including weekends, if needed and able to travel on short notice
Ø Solid understanding of food grade operations and safety practices
Ø Ability to supervise personnel
Ø Class A CDL - REQUIRED
Ø Strong analytical skills
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
Ø Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team
