Overview:
Our client is seeking a Controls / Product Engineer to support and grow a product line focused on enclosures and thermal management. You’ll partner closely with a Product Manager and work cross-functionally with global suppliers and internal teams to drive product development, innovation, and lifecycle support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and help develop product solutions that meet market needs and drive growth within the assigned product category
- Product ownership from concept and testing to launch, including documentation, training, and second-level support
- Engage in cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives throughout the product’s lifecycle
- Evaluate suppliers on product offerings, roadmaps, and support capabilities
- Occasional domestic/international travel to support product initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience (10 years)
- 6 years of industrial control & automation, or OEM/manufacturing of enclosures/thermal management
- Familiarity with electrical enclosures and thermal management technologies
- Background in industrial control products such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety devices, and/or power distribution
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
- Understanding of certification & regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CSA, CE, RoHS) is a plus
