Job Title: Substation Project Engineer

Location: Juno Beach, FL

Duration: 12 months Contract

Must-have Skills

5 years of exp in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects; Project Engineering or Project Management or PMP or PE

Requirements

• Experience in substation project engineering. (1-3 years)
• Experience working on high-voltage substation projects (115kV and above) is preferred.
• Experience with project planning, budgeting, and resource management.
• Experience with substation design tools such as AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
• Experience coordinating with internal teams and Engineers of Record (EOR) to support project designs.
• Experience with project documentation requirements and compliance standards.
• PE (Professional Engineer) License or willingness to pursue it in the future is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, design, and engineering of high-voltage substation projects (115kV and above), ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, and Transmission Owner requirements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring projects stay on track and within financial constraints. Develop scopes of work, secure bids, and manage contracts for engineering and construction services.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including Engineers of Record (EOR), ISOs, transmission owners, external engineers, and vendors to ensure successful project execution and adherence to project milestones.
• Ensure all technical deliverables meet regulatory standards and industry codes. Maintain compliance with substation design documentation, interconnection agreements, and project milestones, while overseeing substation commissioning processes.
• Utilize substation design tools like AutoCAD and other industry-standard software to support design efforts. Review and manage project documentation to ensure it meets compliance standards.
• Lead the technical execution of substation projects, identifying risks and resolving issues related to engineering design, procurement, and construction. Provide leadership in regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings when needed.
• Travel as necessary within North America to provide on-site oversight, ensuring project execution aligns with engineering design and construction milestones.
