Job Description:
IT Outlet is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a server and virtualization admin. We are a growing IT hardware company that specializes in selling new and pre-owned enterprise level solutions nationwide. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a multitude of technologies and helping customers to achieve their technology goals. Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting basic network trouble tickets
- Installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, access points, and other networking devices.
- Maintain, track and report project status and metrics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Willing to learn the most up-to-date IT methods.
- Follow helpdesk/desktop support best practices for troubleshooting and documenting tickets.
- Knowledge in VLAN setup, Network Wiring best practices, and VPN experience.
- Field work to fulfill customer’s needs.
- Some travel required.
Ideal Applicants should:
- Possess a strong background in the Windows OS and Windows Server OS, with an advanced knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
- Have experience with VMWare, virtualization and VEEAM.
- Have the ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of complex computer hardware and software problems.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Have the ability to provide advanced technical assistance and comprehensive problem resolution to end users.
- Have the ability to install and configure computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
- Possess knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Have strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
Experience:
- 2-5 years minimum of database, network administration, or system administration experience
