Job Description:
We have an immediate need for a Superintendent with bridge experience. Bridge experience is a must! The client is open to relocating the right applicant. The project has approximately 2 years remaining until completion. They are also open to speaking with engineers and project managers who have strong bridge experience.
The Structures Superintendent actively participates in and coordinates work related to utilities, underground construction, and design-build projects. This person supervises the field crew and subcontractors and is responsible for ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and with the highest quality.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-plan work activities with the Project Manager to develop best means/methods, including safety action plans
- Review all contracts, project documentation, and plans to ensure work is built to current specifications
- Plan daily operations and ensure appropriate labor, tools, equipment, and materials are available
- Lead and hold crew accountable for safety, quality, and production
- Conduct daily briefings to review goals, safety, and feedback
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture
- Ensure proper safety equipment is available and used by field personnel
- Maintain high levels of communication with customers, contractors, and subcontractors
- Coordinate effectively with others to achieve project goals
Requirements:
- 5 years as a pipe foreman and 5 years as a superintendent in civil utility construction
- Highly knowledgeable in underground utilities: water, storm, and sewer
- Experience managing crews of 10 employees
- Ability to read/interpret project documents including schedules, plans, and specs
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety protocols
- Capable of maintaining detailed project records and documentation
- Ability to perform administrative or project-based duties as needed
