Key Responsibilities
- Design and Drafting: Lead and perform engineering design tasks, including site plans, grading, drainage, and utility design for land development and public works projects using AutoCAD/Civil 3D (or equivalent CAD software).
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure that designs are accurate, feasible, and meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs are compliant with local jurisdictional codes and standards, particularly those in Colorado, and assist with regulatory submissions as needed.
- Problem Solving: Identify design challenges and provide innovative solutions to meet project objectives and timelines.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical drawings, reports, and project specifications for internal and client use.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and project specifications are aligned with their expectations.
- Project Support: Provide support during construction phases, including responding to questions, resolving design-related issues, and ensuring designs are implemented as planned.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2–10 years of experience in land development and/or public works.
- At least 5 years of experience in the field with a BS in Civil Engineering is acceptable.
- Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent CAD software.
- Knowledge:
- Knowledge of jurisdictional codes and standards in Colorado is a plus.
- Driving:
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is essential for project site visits and coordination.
