Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Metrology, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in aerospace metrology, with a focus on automated inspection systems
- Experience leading projects through all phases of the project lifecycle
- 2 years of experience in people leadership, with direct reports
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
- Proficiency with automated metrology tools such as CMMs, laser trackers, structured light scanners, and vision-based systems
- Experience with metrology software (PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, Metrolog X4, etc.)
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies
Responsibilities:
- Manage several aerospace engineering projects, ensuring metrics such as On Time Delivery (OTD), Customer Satisfaction, and deliverable Quality are met
- Grow and lead a team of 5-30 team members, focusing on employee development, employee satisfaction, and performance management
- Coordinate with the account management team and delivery head to strategically invest and grow the business
- Build customer relationships and communicate status updates in regular customer meetings
- Manage team member allocation assignments to various aerospace projects, matching resource capability with project requirements
- Lead and/or support proposal generation for customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Work interdepartmentally to support sales growth initiatives and activities
- Establish standardized work instructions to enable scalability of the site and streamline management processes
- Be empowered to recommend and lead improvements across the organization
- Metrology and Automated Inspections
- Oversee the selection, calibration, and maintenance of precision measurement equipment, including CMMs, laser trackers, structured light scanners, and other automated inspection tools
- Develop and optimize automated inspection programs to improve efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability in production processes
- Lead the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as AI-driven inspection systems and data analytics, into metrology workflows
- Ensure adherence to AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed
