Position Overview :

seeking to hire an Accounting Clerk to work in support of a US Department of Interior (DOI)

program in Denver, CO . This program is dedicated to the accounting operations and

maintenance support of the Financial Management Directorate (FMD).

Responsibilities :

Requirements

Basic Qualifications :

Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, concepts and theories and

the ability to apply them to a variety of financial problems

Some knowledge of the principles, and practices of fund accounting in a federal

government environment

General experience with analyzing and interpreting financial data

Moderate exposure to accounting data dealing with deposit funds, vendor payments,

cash collections, un-liquidated obligations, payroll and / or property

Experience working with at least one computerized accounting systems

Experience in government accounting

Worked with entering, researching and interpreting a few types of accounting

transactions in the financial system

Demonstrated skills in the accomplishment of team / section goals and objectives, in

which the scope of the work involves interaction with other team members and

employees limited to personnel at a subordinate level

Preferred Qualifications :

Some exposure to working with computerized word processing and spreadsheet

application software

Ability to maintain effective working relationship to communicate financial matters, both

orally and in writing

Rate : 21.57 / Hr.
