Join Ithaka Hospitality Partners on their journey as we grow and seek talented individuals to join our team. We are looking for a Banquet Manager to join our leadership team in Auburn, Alabama, overseeing a 10,000-square-foot conference space, rooftop pool, and event space.

Job Summary

The Banquet Manager will oversee all banquet operations at the hotel, including the 10,000-square-foot conference space and rooftop event venues. The Banquet Manager will ensure world-class service delivery, team coordination, and operational excellence, contributing to memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Manage and coordinate all banquet and event operations, ensuring adherence to Ithaka Hospitality Partners' service standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales and culinary teams to execute events seamlessly, from planning to completion.
  • Monitor event logistics, including setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring attention to detail in all aspects.

Guest Satisfaction

  • Regularly interact with event hosts and guests to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Provide pre- and post-event feedback to continuously improve guest experiences.
  • Training & Development

  • Conduct daily team huddles to communicate event details, expectations, and updates.
  • Organize monthly departmental meetings to discuss performance and upcoming goals.
  • Train and mentor banquet staff to deliver exceptional service and achieve operational goals.
  • Financial Management

  • Oversee banquet department budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Track and analyze revenue and expenses, identifying areas for cost control and profit maximization.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of billing and reconciliation for all events.
  • Event Planning & Execution

  • Work with the sales team to customize event packages, menus, and setups tailored to client needs.
  • Lead team meetings to review event orders, timelines, and special requirements.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and setup of equipment, furniture, and décor for each event.
  • Quality Assurance

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of event spaces and equipment.
  • Monitor health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with local and hotel standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of banquet areas to ensure readiness and high-quality presentation.
  • Flexibility

  • Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Adapt to last-minute changes or challenges during events, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Software Knowledge

  • Proficiently use ADP for scheduling and Agilysys, Delphi or similar systems for event management.
  • Utilize inventory and purchasing software to maintain adequate supplies and resources.
  • Qualifications

  • Experience : Three (3) or more years of banquet or event service experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills : Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Knowledge : Understanding of event operations, from AV setups to table arrangements.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for long periods.
  • Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced and dynamic environment requiring quick thinking and adaptability.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to another.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 35 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend and climb stairs for long periods of time.
