A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. As a key member of the plant’s management team, this role drives financial performance, strengthens internal controls, and ensures sound financial decision-making. Additionally, the Controller will manage accounting processes for government contracts, including POC (Percentage of completion method) accounting and financial forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team in general accounting, job cost accounting, and inventory validation.
- Oversee accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Ensure strong internal control processes for financial transactions, including P&L, balance sheet, working capital, and cash flow management.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business objectives and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Coordinate audit, internal control, and SOX compliance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Cultivate a results-driven culture within the finance and accounting departments.
- Manage month-end close processes and review account reconciliations.
- Prepare reports and presentations for business performance meetings.
- Establish annual burden rates and oversee physical inventory counts.
- Assist in major customer and vendor contract negotiations.
- Develop and justify capital expenditure proposals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- CPA or CPM certification preferred.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
- Strong understanding of POC (Percentage of completion method) accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with large ERP and forecasting systems
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
