East Tennessee Research Facility is seeking a Controls Engineer to support an ongoing project in their Radiochemical Engineering Development Center. The ideal candidate will would need experience with Keyence PLCs and HMIs, Keyence vision systems, Denso robotic arms, Promess servo presses, IAI actuators, Oriental motor drives, and other types of electrical support and utilization equipment.
The project begins with programming an automated pellet press system. Then testing the programming and sequencing with the mechanical components in a laboratory setting, and finally troubleshooting and commissioning the system. Candidate must be onsite for testing, commissioning, and integration.
The programming includes creating HMI operator interfaces and determining component communications and interactions. Testing includes removing vials from the vial tray, filling the dies with powder from the vials, pressing the pellets, handling the dies and die components, and placing the pellets into a tray. Final commissioning includes verification that the system works in its final production environment in a glovebox.
