What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Route Service Representative position at ITU AbsorbTech?
Summary of Position:
This position is primarily working within our warehouse and material handling, along with route delivery.
Essential Functions
- Transfer product from service trucks to semi-trailer each day.
- Unload semi- trailers to begin the process of staging products and building loads for the route service team.
- Use forklifts, power pallet jacks and drum carts to load and unload relay trailers.
- Maintain clean and organized dock area.
- Provide assistance to our Route Reps during times of vacation, high route volume and sick days.
Physical Requirement: Employees are regularly on their feet. This position is very active and requires pushing, pulling, and lifting of products on and off box trucks.
Schedule: 6am start time, Monday-Friday. No weekends or holidays. The position requires occasional overnight travel, with trips occurring from Monday to Tuesday or Wednesday to Thursday every other week. The coverage area includes central and western Illinois, as well as eastern Iowa.
Pay: $20-$22 an hour opportunity for commission.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Experience working in sales, route delivery, or customer service preferred. Comfortable driving a box truck (we do provide training for operating our box trucks)! Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record!
