PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic EHS Leadership: Develop, implement, oversee and drive accountability of the division’s EHS strategies, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, ISO 14001, and other industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive measures to minimize hazards.
  • Safety Training and Development: Design and execute safety training programs that enhance awareness and compliance across all levels of the organization. Continuously assess training effectiveness and make necessary improvements.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed records and reports on safety performance.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans. Serve as the primary contact for injury and incident management, ensuring prompt and effective response.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse global EHS team. Collaborate with site EHS and operations teams to proactively identify and address EHS risks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety & Environmental Management, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with multi-site and global operations experience.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, REACH, VOC, Prop 65, and other relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and drive process improvements.
  • Ability to identify, define, analyze, and prioritize opportunities and problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and solve problems efficiently
  • Work Environment: This role requires a balance of office and strong manufacturing floor presence. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb as needed, and travel to various sites as required
