1ST SHIFT
SUMMARY
Responsible for programming computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery that automatically mills, punches, drills, broaches, press brakes or metal reams. Establish programs for cutting metal on laser equipment and programmable benders
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows all company safety rules and policies.
Set up programs and operate computer numerical controlled machines that automatically mill, punch, broach, ream metal parts, cut metal with laser, and bend mental using programmable bender or brake press.
Make adjustments to adhere to established specifications or to correct faulty programming.
Monitors work to ensure that machine is not malfunctioning.
Makes general decisions as to quality, tolerance and operation sequence.
Reviews end products of work performed for errors or deficiencies and takes steps required to correct such errors or deficiencies found.
May make trial runs and measure workpiece for conformance to specifications.
Inspects products and processes while performing job duties to ensure all work done meets or exceeds standards of the company’s quality program.
Works cooperatively and congenially with co-workers to achieve cohesive and productive work processes and work environment.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or as the situation requires.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum three years’ experience in machine shop operations.
Minimum one-year experience in CNC programming.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions regarding procedures required for the set-up and operation of the computer numerically controlled machines used in the shop.
Ability to use shop mathematics and measuring tools such as indicators, micrometers, and gauges.
Ability to use SolidWorks, AutoCad or other drafting program to manipulate data exchange files.
Ability to read and follow blueprints/diagrams of refrigeration model unit.
Possess basic mechanical aptitude and ability.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers.
Ability to effectively participate as a team member
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Attend work regularly and report promptly for duty on the days and at the times scheduled by the supervisor.
Schedule changes occur and should be handled in a productive manner
Working temperatures vary with seasonal changes where climate control is limited. The environment is one in which noise exists.
Sit on a forklift, stand, and/or walk for a combined minimum of eight (8) hours per day on a concrete surface.
Lift and carry components, tools, or other items weighing more than 35 pounds. Any item over 35 pounds, is to be done with assistance
May perform a combination of physical movements to reach areas difficult to access including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, twisting and rotation motions using head/neck, arms, wrists, waist, knees and arms while performing duties.
Pull and push up to 100 pounds.
Handle small hand tools and power tools. Handling may be done unilaterally (one-handed) or bilaterally (two-handed) depending on size and shape of object and task being performed.
Need corrected vision to be aware of the surroundings and location of items needed and perform various other job duties.
Need corrected hearing to identify conditions in the environment (i.e. forklift horns, fire alarms).
Need mental alertness to identify, avoid, or resolve safety hazards.
Ability to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
Ability to wear designated personal protective equipment for the work assignment (i.e. safety glasses, cut-resistant sleeves and gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes, dust masks).
Hours of Work
Monday – Friday – 6:00am to 2:30pm and OT when required
