In this role, you will create precise design documentation and support the manufacture, sale, and servicing of our products. We’re seeking a team-oriented individual who is eager to learn and grow in their design career.
Key Responsibilities
- Create models, drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials using CAD software (SolidWorks) following MTS CAD best practices.
- Work from notes, sketches, verbal instructions, and engineering specifications to develop detailed design plans.
- Review designs, resolve unclarified details, and collaborate to determine the final design approach.
- Develop specifications and designs that meet engineering principles and MTS standards, following internal procedures and best practices.
- Verify completed work by checking dimensions, materials, and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to meet project deadlines and provide technical support.
- Communicate regularly with project team members and supervisors regarding task statuses and design challenges.
- Address mechanical and fabrication issues and ensure any changes are documented and implemented according to change procedures.
- High school diploma or GED, with an Associate degree or vocational/technical certification in drafting, design, industrial design, or a related field.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in drafting or design using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and demonstrate leadership in extracurricular or academic activities.
- A curious, positive attitude, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Previous internship experience is a plus, but not required.
