Job Description:
Shakeproof Automotive is a $150 million-dollar cold heading division within Illinois Tool Works.
The Accounting Clerk will report to the AP/AR Supervisor and will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with system entries for customers and other clerical duties. The Accounting Clerk must be a fast learner, detail oriented, quickly process high volume tasks, and balance multiple responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Distribute daily invoices to customers through mail/email
- Retrieve and post cash daily
- Execute all collection efforts that contribute to an AR past due reduction (less than 1% monthly)
- Making outbound collection calls and or emails in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations
- Maintain customer relationship through resolving customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries using exceptional problem-solving skills
- Work proactively with other departments in identifying and resolving accounts receivable related issues including debits/credits
- Maintain Customer data to ensure address/terms accuracy
- Maintain Customers Sales and Use Tax certificates of exemption
- Performs other duties/projects assigned including assisting with month end close
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 or more years of job-related experience in an accounting environment.
- Must have strong analytical skills, work with minimal supervision, be highly motivated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to effectively work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Moderate proficiency of Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel required
- Attention to detail, organization, and strong multitasking abilities
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement

Compensation Information:
$23.80 - $32.30
