Job Description:
The electrical engineer reports to the engineering manager and is responsible and accountable for the electrical design and modification of product offerings. They produce all necessary electrical documentation to purchase components, assemble and test standard and custom systems. They work in a team environment with all departments to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Job Description:
The electrical engineer reports to the engineering manager and is responsible and accountable for the electrical design and modification of product offerings. They produce all necessary electrical documentation to purchase components, assemble and test standard and custom systems. They work in a team environment with all departments to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design equipment, components and products using electrical design software
- Create wiring diagrams, schematics and system installation drawings
- Assist and direction to perform tests, run customer samples, and other related responsibilities in the laboratory.
- Structure and enter parts and BOM’s
- Provide necessary customer support in repairing equipment and troubleshooting systems through virtual or in the field support
- Research and prepare cost estimates for customer orders or design improvements
- Assist the manufacturing department with assembly and operational testing
- Prepare manuals and other written customer support documentation
- Evaluates customer requests to develop new concepts, products or processes
- Support sales, customer service and purchasing with technical issues
- Occasional travel to customer sites for new equipment start-up
- Additional duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience. Applicable experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Candidates with comparable experience and/or skills are encouraged to apply. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong mathematical skills
- Demonstrable competency in design & analysis of Analog and Digital circuits.
- Proven design work with Analog Sensors, Filter design, Signal processing, Closed Loop Control and Instrumentation electronics.
- Must possess good communication (both written and verbal)
- Working knowledge of electronic assembly process is a plus
- Producing detailed designs for product development
- Knowledge of CAD packages such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mentor Graphics would be plus
- Ability to use and operate test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, logic, Dynamic Signal, and spectrum analyzers, as well as other various pieces of test equipment.
- Good mechanical skills are a plus (small hand tools – solder gun, drill)
- Working as part of a multi-disciplined development team.
- Able to tackle both analytical and practical work when required.
- Prototyping designs, testing them and producing test documentation and reports.
- Experience with system regulatory/compliance requirements EMC standards, the EU Low Voltage Directive, and UL/Cul standards a plus
- Working with external suppliers with component design, specification and integration.
- Technical aptitude to understand product function and application
- Understand and implement cost vs. benefit analysis and product standardization concepts
- Solid computer skills (MS Office applications and Windows-based programs)
