Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our opening staff at IVR Bar. A restaurant Host is entry level, yet requires great interpersonal skills, ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, and is a great opportunity for advancement in a restaurant setting.

Staff will attend 2 weeks of paid training that will include a blend of classroom style education, practical role-playing with coworkers, and menu tastings. Training shifts will be no more than 4 hours, held at the restaurant, and mandatory for all hires.

Located on Milwaukee's Northwest side at 10950 West Good Hope Rd, International Variety Restaurant - IVR Bar will emphasize choice and offer combos of Mexican, Indian, Italian, and Chinese cuisines and a large 25-seat full service bar featuring dozens of domestic and imported beers and house made craft cocktails (and mocktails too!)

As a host, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing outstanding service, seating guests, managing table turn times, greeting guests, answering the phone, assisting managers, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly demeanor.
• Taking and modifying reservations.
• Assisting staff prepare tables for seating.
• Manage the floor using a POS system during service.
• Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest quality service.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff for carry out orders.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
• Adhere to procedures outlined in allergy policy, foremost notifying a manager and safe handling of food items to prevent cross-contamination.
• Complete all sidework and check out with manager prior to clocking out.

Experience

• Previous experience hosting or working in restaurant service industry preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems like Toast, phone communication, and customer service
• Knowledgeable about menu themes, restaurant operations, and events
• Strong cash handling skills
• Excellent guest service skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
• A team player who is willing to help colleagues when needed.
